What invading force do you think they plan to repeal in them close quarters? Wave attacks by Al Qaida?
So, now we learn something quite interesting. It is paranoid for the American citizenry to be afraid of the Government, and no citizen needs an assault rifle. But it is apparently prudent for the Government to stockpile full auto rifles to prepare to battle the citizenry.
Any ideas? Do they just want to snatch all the supply from the market to drive prices up and to deny us the merchandize? What are those imeciles up to?
P.S. Corrections!
Guns...
Among other toys, Homeland Security is buying 7000 full auto AR-15s to be used domestically, in the USA. The explanation is that this kind of rifle is "suitable for personal defense in close quarters ". Interesting, eh?What invading force do you think they plan to repeal in them close quarters? Wave attacks by Al Qaida?

...and Ammo
According to this, at the "height of active battle operations in Iraq, US soldiers used 5.5 million rounds of ammunition a month". That gives us an opportunity to review the recent purchases of the US Government, - not just in millions of rounds as before, - but in a much more illustrative terms of "days of the most fierce fighting in Iraq".- March 2012: ATK contracts to supply Homeland Security with 450 million handgun rounds (6.8 years) over the next five years (here)
- August 2012: Homeland Security is buying 750 million rounds (11.4 years) assorted (here)
- September 2012: Homeland Security is buying rifle rounds: .223 cal 200 million (3 years) and .308 cal 176 thousands (that's not much, but I agree that these sound like for use by snipers) (here)
- February 2013. Homeland Security wants to buy 20 million hollow point handgun rounds (3.6 months) and 1.6 million full metal jacket - i.e., training rounds (here)
